Citizens of the Archive: Uncovering Race and Poetry

A special event on race and poetry at the National Poetry Library, organised in partnership with the University of Sussex. The day will feature an exhibition of the Poetry Library’s collection of poetry by writers of colour, highlighting the Caribbean Artists Movement, radical black publishers from the 1960s onwards, small press poetry, and materials such as pamphlets, posters, and audio recordings. There will be reading and creative writing workshop activities centred on the exhibition, a panel discussion on reading lists and curricula, and a poetry reading in the evening.
